Boolchand’s Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to handle transactions accurately and deliver an excellent in-store experience at Boolchand’s. In this role, you will process payments, assist customers, and help maintain a smooth and efficient checkout operation. You will also support customer engagement through our loyalty program and product referrals.

*Responsibilities*

-Process cash, credit, and check transactions accurately, issuing receipts and bagging items with care.
-Count and reconcile cash drawer at the start and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to the manager promptly.
-Greet customers, resolve complaints, and provide relevant product information, escalating to a manager when needed.
-Capture customer data in the POS system and promote sign-ups and engagement with the loyalty program, ensuring points are correctly awarded and redeemed.
-Cross-sell and introduce products to support sales goals.
-Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and adhere to store procedures for coupons and gift cards.

*Requirements*

-High School Diploma or equivalent.
-Prior experience in a cashier or customer service role.
-Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly, with strong attention to detail.
-Basic math and computer skills, including familiarity with cash registers or POS systems.
-Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a courteous, helpful approach.
-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and stand for extended periods.
