Job Description
Archer Caribbean is looking for a motivated and proactive paralegal to join our office in Curaçao. Although the position is primarily based in Curaçao, you should also be open to assisting with matters involving other islands within the Dutch Caribbean. You will become part of a dynamic legal practice focused on corporate law, employment law, general contract law, and compliance-related matters. In this role, you will work closely with our legal team and be actively involved in client matters and the day-to-day practice of law.
We offer a young and informal working environment with plenty of room for growth, learning, and personal development. You will gain practical experience across multiple areas of law, receive personal guidance and mentoring, and be encouraged to think proactively and contribute ideas. At the same time, we value flexibility and a healthy work-life balance, including the possibility to work partly remotely where appropriate. Beyond the work itself, we regularly organize team lunches, office outings, and informal drinks together.
We value attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn above all else. A formal university-level legal education is not necessarily required, but you should have a clear affinity with the legal field. Experience or education involving Dutch law is considered a strong advantage. We do, however, ask applicants to demonstrate qualities such as eagerness to learn, a strong work ethic, a proactive mindset, confidence to ask questions, the ability to contribute ideas, and the ability to work independently while taking initiative. Strong organizational and communication skills are also important.
Your day-to-day work may involve assisting with legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents and correspondence, supporting attorneys with client files and case management, assisting with compliance-related projects, communicating with clients and external parties, and handling general administrative and legal support tasks.
This is a part-time position for up to 24 hours per week. The number of working days is flexible and can be discussed together based on what works best for both you and Archer. In return, we offer a market-conform salary, a flexible and supportive working environment, hands-on experience within an active legal practice, opportunities to grow professionally across different legal areas, and exposure to legal matters throughout the Dutch Caribbean.
If you are enthusiastic, eager to grow, and enjoy working in a practical and fast-paced legal environment, we would love to hear from you. We look forward to learning more about you, your interests, and your ambitions. We value authenticity and personal motivation, and therefore kindly ask applicants not to submit AI-generated motivation letters. We appreciate genuine applications that reflect your own experience, personality, and writing style. Pre-employment screening is part of the selection process.
Of course, you are also more than welcome to stop by for a cup of coffee with us at Kas Pampoen first, so you can get a feel for the atmosphere and see whether our office and team are a good fit for you.
