Kome Restaurant is seeking an experienced Dining Room Manager to join our service team.

The Dining Room Manager (DRM) ensures an exceptional guest experience by leading, training, and supporting the front-of-house (FOH) team. This role combines active floor management with essential administrative duties, setting the standard for hospitality, service excellence, and team development. The DRM is a hands-on leader who drives upselling initiatives, maintains operational efficiency, and fosters a culture of professionalism and guest care.

Our Restaurant:
Kome is located on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, in the buzzing Pietermaai District, Curaçao’s hub for nightlife and entertainment. Kome offers a welcoming place to meet, eat, and drink. Our menu combines Caribbean and global cuisines, using fresh regional ingredients. All dishes are prepared from scratch in our kitchen. Kome has been open for 13 years and is recognized as one of Curaçao’s best dining destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

GUEST EXPERIENCE & SERVICE
• Create memorable guest experiences through attentive service and informed recommendations.
• Implement, model and uphold company service standards; ensure hospitality is consistent across all interactions.
• Drive upselling initiatives and encourage suggestive selling without compromising guest satisfaction.
• Actively participate in service

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
• Lead FOH training on Kome principles, hospitality standards, upselling techniques, and product knowledge (wine, pairings, desserts, specialty proteins).
• Mentor & coach staff to improve service quality and guest engagement.
• Share product knowledge and sales techniques with the team to enhance guest experience and revenue.

OPERATIONS & FLOOR MANAGEMENT
• Supervise FOH team during service to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional operations.
• Manage reservations, guest requests, and plan private events and holiday functions to optimize seating and flow.
• Maintain clear communication with the kitchen and step in to support staff when needed.
• Ensure FOH team productivity during setup, breakdown, and non-service hours.
• Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of all dining areas, bar, storage, and all front-of-house equipment

ADMINISTRATIVE
• Create and manage FOH scheduling and coordinate any employee changes with HR.
• Manage and coordinate reservations, guest requests, private events and holiday functions with all team members when needed.
• Oversee ordering and inventory of wine, liquor, and FOH supplies; promote profitable products.
• Handle guest feedback, respond to guest inquiries, and manage online reviews professionally.
• Complete closing reports and administrative tasks in line with company policies.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
• 2+ years management experience in an upscale restaurant handling 150+ daily covers.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to train and motivate teams for exceptional service and upselling.
• Knowledge of food, beverage, and wine service standards.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
